Apteryx, Inc. was formallly founded in 1995. Apteryx has grown significantly and now specializes in the development of custom applications for medical, dental and synthetic imaging; image processing; data encryption and security; inventory management; tools and utility applications and services; and distributed systems.

Current Market Niches

Apteryx first started developing applications that centered around automatic crossword puzzle generators and automated distributed inventory management systems. The inventory system grew into a large product line originally known then as AIM95 and eventually evolved into our current InControl product line.

The digital dental radiography field is where Apteryx truly became what it is known for today – digital image management and integration specialists. The XrayVision product was first released in 1996, and has been developed into the premier dental image capture and management software suite on the market with over 30,000 international users as of 2005. The core foundation of XrayVision and XVlite is state-of-the-art, open architecture digital dental x-ray software that incorporate numerous sources and different hardware manufacturer into one application.

XrayVision opened the door to the institutional needs of similar software, and DCV was the next generation of dental DICOM server and client software. DCV is used extensively within the United States military, as well as other institutions.
